Designs of Nails Past

I decided to showcase a few of my earlier designs (from last summer/semester) because I still like them a lot, even if the photo quality isn't that great. They also provide a good reference point to which I can compare all my future designs, especially since the fanciest tool used here was a dotting tool. You can find them here for about two dollars, which is an amazing deal!

Shiny Geometric Print

China Glaze Icicle, Sally Hansen Blue Me Away!, and Sinful Colors Let's Talk
I remember seeing this Dressed Up Nails design a while ago, and I vowed to try it for myself. I really like how it came out! This design didn't take very long, and it was very easy to do! Even if you don't have a striper, you can use a toothpick or the end of a bobby pin. There are also brushes available for cheap online. I bought these on ebay for about 2 dollars!

Criss-Cross Applesauce

Pure Ice Kiss Me Here and Kiss Striper Paint in Soft Blue

I think these are simple and not too busy. I really like the brightness of the blue with the soft gray.

Baby's First Zebra Print

Wet 'N Wild Candy-licious with black striper polish

Shoutout to Katie Mac, who painted my nails with these cool, funky zebra stripes! I hope to recreate them one day using all sorts of crazy colors.

Poor Swirls

Sally Hansen Blue Me Away!, Destined Pale Yellow, and China Glaze Icicle

I ended up not liking this manicure as much as I thought I would. The swirls did not come out as I hoped, and the silver dots made it look busy, and almost tacky. Not to mention the fact that I broke most of these while I was traveling back to school! Sigh.

Green Mix and Match

Sinful Colors Exotic Green, Sally Hansen Disco Ball with white striper polish

I let my brother choose the color, glitter, and everything for this design! I never paint my nails totally green, but I really liked this mani!

ColorBlocking!

China Glaze Tinsel Town, Sally Hansen Blue Me Away!, Destined Pale Yellow, and Wet 'N Wild Through the Grapevine
I LOVE THESE NAILS. They are so bright, and full of energy! Imagine having this on all 10 of your fingers! Whoo!

Free-Handed Half Moons

China Glaze Cast A Spell and I Herd That

I freehanded some half moons because I have seen them everywhere, but never got around to buying the hole reinforcement stickers used to create the look (I finally have them, but I'll try the technique later). Even though this took forever, I love the mani, and love the glitter combo even more!

Leopard-Mania!

Sally Hansen Blue Me Away! and Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet

When I first ventured into the world of nail art, leopard print was all I did. I strayed a bit, but returned to my Old Faithful with these. They're just the right kind of busy.

Behold the Tape Manis!

China Glaze Desert Sun and Wet 'N Wild I Need a Refresh-Mint

L.A. Colors Fuchsia and China Glaze Icicle

I hadn't experimented with tape in a while, so since I had some free time over break, I did just that. Here are my after-Christmas and New Years manicures, respectively.

Is It Christmas Yet?

I was really anxious for Christmas to come, because I really put a lot of thought into my family's gifts, and I couldn't wait to see their faces when they opened them! So I attempted a Christmas tree (of sorts). Colors: China Glaze I Herd That, and Sinful Colors Sugar Sugar and Exotic Green.

Loops!

As I am in love with China Glaze's Tinsel Town, I decided to wear it as soon as I got home for winter break. I was going to add more detail/loops, but I liked the Destined Pale Yellow alone.

The Gift of All Gifts

For my Secret Snowflake gift, my proctee Sam gave me (big surprise, I know) a bottle of nail polish. It's called Purple Potion by Sally Hansen. I was actually really excited because I didn't have a color like it. Little did I know I would become transfixed by it. It's so shimmery and dreamy and iridescent. This picture can't even begin to do it justice. Love and Beauty Bronze on my thumb.

Secret Snowflake!

On my floor, right before the holidays last year, we had a gift exchange called a Secret Snowflake. I decided to get into the spirit a bit, and work some glitter onto my nails. I LOVE LOVE LOVE these glitters! China Glaze Tinsel Town and Ruby Pumps.

How Fast Can Donisha Paint Her Nails?

These took me all of 15 minutes, and I was quite pleased with them. I needed a new mani for a friend's birthday dinner, and I think these were just festive enough. Wet 'N Wild On A Trip with China Glaze Icicle.

They Matched My Dress, Too!

I decided to paint my nails extra-special for the Junior-Senior Ball in December! I took a cue from my dress, and painted them a nude base (Wet 'N Wild Sugar Coat), and added designs with a black striper. I love a good mix and match mani!

Easter Eggs in November

These are Wet 'N Wild I Need a Refresh-Mint and NYX Muted Lavender with Destined Pale Yellow.

My First Post!

Today, I decided (with a little a lot of encouragement from Priscila) to start a nails-only blog! I'm still getting a feel for things, but I love it already! I'm going to upload all of my manis since I got my new camera (no cell phone pics, yay!) with nail polish names and relevant links, so there are at least a few posts! Hope you enjoy them! :)
These are Love & Beauty Bronze with a Wet 'N Wild Through the Grapevine on the accent nail.
